In 1997, Stahlbush was the very first farm to be certified sustainable by the Food Alliance. They invented 100% biodegradable packaging and purposely did not patent the technology so other companies could follow their lead. They also have their own biogas plant, which turns agricultural byproducts into energy and creates enough power to run the farm plus more than 1,000 homes.
