Description:   Lactua Sativa. Superb bolt resistant variety. One of the best lettuces to grow in spring, as it can handle the heat better than most. This is a Batavian variety that is generally green speckled with red in summer, but as soon as there is a bit of cold then a beautiful deep wine-red color becomes more apparent. Due to Department of Agriculture Regulations, we are unable to ship tomatoes, peppers, or eggplant to California.   Ellie’s Eden starts are guaranteed to arrive to our customers in good, live condition.  Upon arrival, if there is any damage to the plants due to freezing on the truck, or stems of plants broken in transit, please notify customer service within 24 hours of delivery for credit.   Ellie’s Eden does not credit plants that die after being placed in the ground.   Please note that these plants have been on a truck and in a dark box before reaching you, so we encourage you to open the boxes and harden the plants off before placing in the garden.
