This hot cocoa is crafted using organic cacao from the Dominican Republic and Peru, and organic cane sugar from Paraguay, all grown by small farmer co-ops. When farmers organize into co-ops they gain crucial market access, run their business democratically, and decide together how to invest in their communities. By enjoying this cocoa, you're supporting these small farmers and their communities. FUNDOPO, one of our cacao partners in Dominican Republic, has been organizing producers since 2002 and is now a co-operative of over 2,000 farmers. In recent years the co-op has experience lower yields due to climate change an aging cacao farm. The co-op is focusing o increasing productivity for members.
